Nicole is certified by Salt Pilates 450+ hour Summer 2019 training program. Growing up, Nicole was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader. She remained active throughout her adult life, hiking, skiing and working out. She spent decades as a business consultant in the pharmaceutical industry, and worked in global product development for GlaxoSmithKline. In 2018, she experienced debilitating low back pain from multiple bulging discs. As part of her physical therapy and healing, she was encouraged to try Pilates. During that first Pilates reformer class, she was both surprised and amazed at how the workout made her body feel. It was a feeling hard to describe, but she knew immediately that Pilates would be a part of her life going forward. In working with her back injury, and other injuries experienced as an athlete, she learned the importance of listening to her body. She has been passionate about Pilates ever since. She knows that on any given day, her Pilates practice can be any combination of: strength, flexibility, maintenance, healing and mental calming. She loves to introduce others to Pilates. When Nicole isn’t in the studio, she is probably hiking, skiing, walking her dog with friends, or making dinner with her husband.
Astin is certified by Salt Pilates 2019 Summer Certification Program. Originally from Montana, she grew up with a love for sports, especially basketball. In 2005 Astin and her husband, Rob moved to Park City where they eventually started a family. Astin discovered Pilates shortly after having her 2nd baby. She immediately fell in love with Pilates and the way her body responded to the workouts. After taking time away due to a lack of studios in Park City, she was excited to find the Salt community and quickly became a regular in class. Astin believes in the Pilates method and urges people to incorporate it into their weekly workout routines. She feels incredibly lucky to have found this community and cannot wait to get started as an instructor!
When Astin isn’t practicing Pilates you can find her in the jewelry studio making handmade one-of-a-kind pieces or cheering on her daughters as they compete in skiing and soccer.
